At ResponsiveEd, we are focused not only on the success of our students but on the achievements and growth of our talented educators leading the way. As we assemble the best collection of talent around to inspire and provide hope for students, we are honored to spotlight those already making a difference in the lives of our students across the district.

This week, we sat down with Michole Rubin, who teaches fifth and sixth-grade English and language arts at Ignite Community School – Beaumont.

Tell Us About Yourself

I was born and raised in Beaumont, Texas, and received my bachelor’s and master’s degrees from The University of Texas – Permian Basin. I joined ResponsiveEd in August of 2021 and teach fifth and sixth-grade English and language arts at Ignite Community School – Beaumont.

What inspired you to become an educator?

I have wanted to be a teacher for as long as I can remember, and almost every job I have had in the past has been in the education field. One of my fondest memories as a child is playing school with my two sisters. I have been very lucky to have so many people in my life who have supported me and my passion for this job along the way.

What are some things that your students have taught you?

My students have taught me that each student brings their own skill set and qualities to the classroom, making them all unique and special. Every day, they remind me that the best way I can ensure student success is to be mindful of those qualities and skills when planning, providing instruction, and interacting with my students.

Additionally, I have learned that building relationships with scholars and their families is essential to their success. When families know that you have their child’s best interest at heart, you can work as a team to guide the student in the right direction.

What are you most proud of about your time with Ignite Community School – Beaumont?

I am most proud of the progress I have made professionally and personally. The Ignite Community School community has been incredibly encouraging throughout my time here.

What do you like most about being an educator for your campus?

Being a part of ResponsiveEd has allowed me the opportunity to further my education all while working alongside people who cheer me on along the way. ResponsiveEd has the feel of family. We all work together for the good of our scholars, and I can honestly say that I work with my friends.
